This is A.Revathi, a writer and a trans-activist. I went to Tamil Literature Festival where I saw her perform. She performed a monologue, her own story. After her performance I decided to look around the festival. After half an hour, I saw her sitting near one of the pillars posing pensively for a photo for her social media account being taken by her companion. It was this mundane act that stuck in my head. I decide to paint her in her pensive pose like she wanted. I was not in my hometown, I was on a trip in Chennai so, all I could use were my aunt’s almost dried up oil paints and my hands. But, the painting looks like her and her ornaments are shining.
